Huss & Dalton DS - Torrefied Sitka & Indian Rosewood
Overview
Specifications
We were really looking forward to this build, and our excitement was well-warranted. We kept the customizations to a minimum, opting only for a torrefied Sitka top. We are big fans of Sitka spruce, and feel the torrefication just elevates it to another level, with a wonderfully open, sweet and diverse tone that seems to make everything sound great up and down the fretboard. The radius construction offers a very meaty, balanced tone across the frequency spectrum, and as H&D recommends, this guitar is at it's best when played with a heavy hand. The hand carved neck on this DS is super comfortable, with just the right amount of heft. The vintage sunburst finish is perfection. We love this guitar and think you will too.

From Huss & Dalton:
This slope-shouldered guitar is designed for brawny power. Big in sound but not short on clarity, this guitar is a nod to the traditional slope-shoulder guitars of the 1930s and ’40s. Its standard woods are Sitka spruce paired with either Indian rosewood or mahogany. In concept, we think of the rosewood version as a slope-shouldered D-RH and the mahogany version as a slope-shouldered DM. The pairs sound similar, and all four sound their best with medium strings and hard playing. The DS comes standard with a beautiful vintage sunburst, maple bindings, and 42-style snowflake fretboard inlays.
