Huss & Dalton TOM-R - Blue Denim Sitka & Black Tiger Myrtlewood

This is a spectacular custom TOM-R from Huss & Dalton. The "Blue Denim" Sitka spruce used for the top is very unique and striking to behold, and has an amazing story detailed below. The Black Tigerstripe Myrtlewood used for the back and sides is jaw-dropping. Myrtlewood tone is sometimes described as a combination of both rosewood and maple, and we think this is an apt description for this amazing instrument. It just sounds crazy good, with wonderful articulation and range. The Blue Denim Sitka top is incredibily responsive, with beautiful shimmery highs and full, thumpy lows. A very dynamic, beautiful guitar from Huss & Dalton.

About Blue Denim Sitka Spruce:

"Throughout much of the 20th century, Southeast Alaska’s sheltered bays and coves were home to a large number of floating structures that supported the area’s fish trapping and logging industries. These camps were built upon long Sitka spruce logs that spent over half a century floating in the saltwater, being towed from place to place as the weather and waters allowed.

But as the need for these structures dwindled in recent decades, the camps were either sold for “float house living” or purchased for salvage. In the latter case, it was discovered upon disassembly that, due to decades of floating in the saltwater, boards cut from many of the spruce logs had taken on a dark bluish/greyish hue."
